Post Disaster Works

With the notion of Infrastruttura Atmosferica, we refer to a spatial device that produces and amplifies the emergence of an atmosphere, understood as a space of betweenness – a range of collective affects generated through dynamic, relational encounters with place. Atmospheres are not easily bounded, defined, or even fully detectable. Rather, they must be felt. This spatiality operates simultaneously through envelopment and outward radiation, connecting bodies in – and with – space through a form of emotional attunement.
Staged within a former quarry in Grottaglie (Southern Italy), Infrastruttura Atmosferica #1 is an immersive scenography conceived for CRX Festival 2025 and developed in collaboration with Scaffsystem, a company specialized on logistical and storage structures. The intervention emerges from a reflection on the transformative potential of logistical infrastructures: modular systems originally designed for efficiency and organization that, through processes of resignification, can be activated as relational and affective tools for proximity, care, and shared pleasure.
